Who is eligible to make a purchase on the Dominion Energy Online Marketplace?
Energy saving products are available for purchase for qualified Dominion Energy residential electric account holders in Virginia and North Carolina, except for Smart Thermostats. At this time, only qualified Dominion Energy residential electric account holders in Virginia are eligible to redeem available Smart Thermostat rebates. Product rebates are automatically applied at checkout to any purchases made on the Dominion Energy Online Marketplace.
Do I need to set up an Account on the Dominion Energy Portal so I can make a purchase on the Online Marketplace or can I check out as a Guest?
You will need to set up an account on the Dominion Energy Portal to make any type of purchase from the Online Marketplace.
What information is needed to create an account on the Dominion Energy portal so that I can make a purchase on the Dominion Energy Online Marketplace?
To set up a portal account the following information is required:
- Primary Account Holder First Name
- Primary Account Holder Last Name
- Account Holder's Email Address
- Account Holder's Phone Number
- Account Address
- Account Number
What type of energy saving products are available for purchase and what are the maximum purchase limits?
- Advanced Power Strips (limit 4 for program duration)
- Energy Star Air Purifiers (limit 4 for program duration)
- Air Filters (limit 12 for program duration)
- Energy Star Bathroom Vent Fan (limit 4 for program duration)
- Energy Star Dehumidifier (limit 4 for program duration)
- Spray Foam (limit 4 for program duration)
- Energy Star Water Dispenser (limit 4 for program duration)
- Energy Star Smart Thermostat (limit 2 for program duration)
How do I navigate to the Buy Now qualified products?
On the Dominion Energy Online Marketplace portal, all products offered will have a “Buy Now” option. There are a few mandatory questions that will need to be answered in order to confirm customer eligibility to purchase any products offered on the Online Marketplace.
What are the shipping costs for Buy Now purchases?
Shipping cost is a flat fee of $9.99 displayed at the time of checkout.
Is free shipping available?
No. Shipping cost is a flat fee of $9.99 per order, regardless of how many items are purchased.
How long will it take for my Buy Now purchases to arrive?
Typically Buy Now purchases are shipped within 24-48 hours of when the order is placed on the portal. Most shipments arrive 5 to 7 days after they are shipped. Please be advised that Amazon may be used as our fulfillment provider and your purchase may arrive in Amazon packaging. Our fulfillment provider(s) are subject to change at any time and without further notice.
What is the return policy for Marketplace purchases?
If you purchase a qualifying product through the Dominion Energy Online Marketplace and it arrives damaged, or if you receive a different product from what you ordered, you may return it within 30 days of purchase. We will assist you in correcting the order once we receive and process your return.
Do you store my credit card information?
No. All credit card and payment information is processed through the secure pay processing software, Stripe. Credit card information is not stored or visible to our customer service representatives or employees.
What should I do if I've added a rebate to my cart and it shows up with an amount of $0?
If your order shows $0 in the shopping cart, please submit it anyway. It may still be eligible after a full review.
Do used, refurbished, or resold products qualify for rebate?
No
Who is CLEAResult?
Dominion Energy partners with CLEAResult to facilitate purchases on the Marketplace portal for Residential electric account holders. CLEAResult is the single largest provider of energy efficiency solutions in North America.
How long do I have to submit an after purchase rebate application?
Applications must be SUBMITTED no later than 90 days after the purchase date.
What products qualify for an after-purchase rebate?
Qualified Energy Star Smart Thermostats only.
How do I get my rebate for a Qualified Energy Star Smart Thermostat?
There are three ways to receive a rebate for a qualified Energy Star Thermostat purchase:
- Rebates for purchases made through the Dominion Energy Online Marketplace are automatically applied at the time of purchase.
- Reserve a coupon at a participating retailer that may be used at the time of checkout.
- Purchase an Energy Star Smart Thermostat at the retailer of your choice and complete an after-purchase application.
How do I submit an application for an after-purchase rebate on an Energy Star Smart Thermostat?
Customers must use the Dominion Energy Online portal to apply for a rebate for a qualified Energy Star Smart Thermostat. Please verify that your Energy Star Thermostat is on the qualified products list.
What information needs to be included with the Energy Star Smart Thermostat rebate form at the time of submission?
For all rebate applications the following will need to be included as a part of the application: a complete dated and itemized sales invoice or receipt showing: the name of the retailer; the date of purchase; the brand and model number of the smart thermostat(s) purchased, and purchase price.
Customers will also be asked to input the serial number of the Energy Star Smart Thermostat(s) purchased at the time of application.
A representative may contact customers to request additional verification information.
How long will it take to receive my after-purchase rebate for my Energy Star Smart Thermostat?
You will receive your rebate 4-6 weeks from the date of when the completed application and all necessary documentation is received.
Can my rebate be paid in the form of credits on my utility bill?
No. Rebates for qualifying Energy Star Smart Thermostats are only issued as checks.
Can my rebate be paid in the form of gift card?
No. Rebates are only issued as checks and payable to the Residential Account Holder on record.
What if I misplace my rebate check?
Please contact us at [email protected] or contact us at 888-366-8280. It is highly recommended to cash or deposit rebate checks within two weeks of receipt.
What happens if my Energy Star Smart Thermostat after purchase rebate application is denied?
If your Energy Star Smart Thermostat is not eligible for a rebate, you will receive a written notice and explanation as to why your application was denied. If your appliance is qualified but the application is missing any of the required information, our processing team will contact you and explain any necessary steps for completing the rebate application.
Can I reserve a retailer coupon and apply for a past purchase rebate at the same time?
Yes. Subject to participation limits detailed above, Dominion Energy Residential Customers eligible for rebates may reserve a retailer coupon and apply for a past purchase rebate. Each Energy Star Smart Thermostat coupon and past purchase rebate application must be submitted separately.
Can I apply for two after-purchase rebates at the same time?
Yes. If you are eligible for both (based on participation limits), you may submit each rebate application separately.
I've already reserved my coupon for purchasing an Energy Star Smart Thermostat at a particular retailer, but I’ve changed my mind and would like to purchase my Smart Thermostat from a different retailer.
If you would like to purchase your Smart Thermostat from a different retailer and would like to reserve another coupon, you will need to be issued a completely new coupon code. I reserved my coupon a while ago and cannot find my code; what should I do?
Please contact us at [email protected] and your coupon will be resent to you or contact us at 888-366-8280. It is highly recommended to please use all retailer coupons within two weeks of issue.
What should I do if I am unable to reserve a coupon due to an unexpected error?
