Receive a rebate on your past purchase of an ENERGY STAR certified smart thermostat. You can apply for this rebate in four easy steps:

  1. Check that your thermostat is on the qualified models list.
  2. Click "Verify Eligibility," below, to provide requested information.
  3. Upload your receipt when prompted.
  4. Click "Add to Cart" and then "Place Order."

Product Details

A smart thermostat is a Wi-Fi enabled device that automatically adjusts heating and cooling temperature settings in your home for optimal performance. Smart thermostats that earn the ENERGY STAR label have been independently certified, based on actual field data, to deliver energy savings. While system designs may vary, common smart thermostat features include:

 

Convenience

  • Many smart thermostats learn your temperature preferences and establish a schedule that automatically adjusts to energy-saving temperatures when you are asleep or away.
  • Geofencing allows your smart thermostat to know when you’re on the way home and automatically adjusts your home’s temperature to your liking.

 

Control

  • Wi-Fi enabled thermostats allow you to control your home’s heating and cooling remotely through your smartphone.
  • ENERGY STAR certified smart thermostats quickly enter a low-power standby mode when inactive.

 

Insight

  • Smart thermostats provide equipment use and temperature data you can track and manage.
  • Periodic software updates ensure your smart thermostat is using the latest algorithms and energy-saving features available.

You must be an active Dominion Energy residential electric customer in the Commonwealth of Virginia.

  • Participating customer must be the party that is responsible for the electric bill.
  • Smart thermostat(s) must be ENERGY STAR certified. Review the list of qualified models.
    • Your application must be for product(s) purchased after January 1, 2025, and must be submitted no later than 90 days after purchase date.
  • Customer must live in a single-family home (house, townhouse, mobile home).
  • Customer's home must have a heat pump (air source, ductless mini-split, or geothermal).

 

Customer is eligible for rebate submissions during the Program time period for up to two eligible smart thermostats. Customer can receive a rebate in any of the following ways, but the number of rebates received cannot exceed the limit previously described.

  1. Customer may receive an instant rebate at time of checkout from the Dominion Energy Online Marketplace.
  2. Customer may use a coupon code obtained from dominion.clearesult.com to be used at checkout at a brick and mortar/online store (“Retail Coupon”).
  3. Customer may apply for a rebate after purchase online at dominion.clearesult.com.
